GUERNSEY FC IS DELIGHTED TO PARTNER WITH BOWEL CANCER GUERNSEY.

Bowel Cancer Guernsey is proud to announce its new sponsorship of the Guernsey FC’s shorts. As part of this partnership, the charity's impactful logo will be prominently displayed across the back of the shorts as a way of raising awareness of the cancer.

Both the men's and women's home and away kits will feature these newly sponsored shorts, which made their debut in the club's first game on 11th September. This collaboration not only aims to raise awareness but also highlights the importance of early detection and how an active life can help prevent bowel cancer., encouraging the community to take proactive steps towards their health.

Anne Brouard, Chair of Bowel Cancer Guernsey, said: ‘We’re proud to support Guernsey FC. One key measure in reducing the risk of bowel cancer is to stay active, and this is something we talk about a lot in our awareness campaign.  This sponsorship is a significant step towards raising further awareness while supporting the local sports community.

‘The aptly placed logo on the back of the shorts serves as a reminder for everyone: 'Don't sit on it, sort it.' If anyone notices any new symptoms (as described on the charity’s website), I’d encourage you to consult a doctor.'

Nic Legg, Director and Communications Manager of Guernsey FC, said: ‘Guernsey Football Club is delighted to be partnering with Bowel Cancer Guernsey to help raise awareness and increase knowledge within the Bailiwick and beyond. Both our teams will be proudly sporting the charity’s logo to help spread the message and hopefully make a positive change in our community.’

Bowel Cancer Guernsey is a charity dedicated to enhancing awareness, prevention, and diagnosis of bowel cancer in the Bailiwick. With approximately 40 to 45 new cases annually, bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in Guernsey. Over 90% of those diagnosed with early-stage bowel cancer can be successfully treated if detected early.

About Bowel Cancer Guernsey

Bowel Cancer Guernsey was established in 2001 as the Guernsey Bowel Cancer Awareness Charity and is registered with the Guernsey Association of Charities. In 2013 the charity rebranded as Bowel Cancer Guernsey and in January 2015 became a company Limited by Guarantee (LBG).

The committee organises a series of events each year to raise funds for the Charity and to raise awareness of bowel cancer. Money raised is spent locally on specialised equipment and educational initiatives – see our page on ‘The work we do in Guernsey’ for more details.

The directors meet most months for business meetings plus there are additional smaller sub-committee
