Matt Loaring is set to make an unprecedented 400th appearance for Guernsey as new opponent Hayes & Yeading United visit Footes Lane on Saturday afternoon.

The versatile Loaring, who has played almost every position for the Green Lions, made his debut way back in only our third competitive game against Warlingham in August 2011 and is now way out in front as the club's record appearance holder.

His 105 goals for the Sarnians makes him the only other player apart from Ross Allen to have reached a century.

Another big milestone up for grabs is Allen scoring his 300th goal for the club. He got his 299th from the spot against Metropolitan Police last weekend in just his 335th appearance.

That goal will be needed to help the Green Lions take out the anger of another late goal against Met Police that denied them an important victory. As such, it was a winless October for Tony Vance's side. They would still be in the relegation zone with three points, but they could move up a place and bring the teams above them back within their reach.

A major boost for Tony Vance is the return from injury of Kieran Mahon to add to his midfield options. Captain Jamie Dodd is still working his way back to fitness.

Hayes & Yeading were relegated from the Southern Premier League South Division. They were formed from the merger of Hayes FC and Yeading FC in 2017. The latter of the two may be remembered from reaching the third round of the FA Cup in 2005, where they were knocked out by Newcastle United.

United sit just outside the play-offs with games in hand on all the teams above them, although they have only won once in their last five league outings. Their travelling squad contains winger Jordon Ibe, who has more than 100 Premier League appearances for Liverpool and Bournemouth, as well as spells at Wycome Wanderers, Birmingham City and Derby County. He joined Hayes & Yeading in October.

Saturday's match kicks off at 2pm. Fans unable to make it to Footes Lane can listen to full live commentary on our @GuernseyFC X Space and keep up with the action via our X and Facebook posts. GFCTV highlights will be uploaded to our YouTube and social media channels after the game, with a full match report on the website.
