Tony Vance has named his most experienced squad in some time for Guernsey's crunch clash with old friends Corinthian-Casuals at Footes Lane on Saturday.

With Jack Griffin, Brandon Wallace, Owen Wallbridge, Simon Arnold and Seb Vance all in action for the Guernsey representative U21 side in the Ambassadeur Bowl on Sunday, Vance has been able to bring some big names back into the side, and their experience could be vital.

They include a recall for Ryan-Zico Black, a return for Matt Loaring (who missed last Saturday's trip to Hartley Wintney with illness) and Ross Allen, who has started just one game this season. Christian Povall is also included to challenge Josh Addison for the number one shirt.

Kieran Mahon is set to move past Angus Mackay in the all-time appearance list onto 181 games for the club, while Tom Dodds will go level with former club captain Sam Cochrane on 186 matches if he features.

The full squad is as follows: Addison, Povall, Hainsworth, Vaudin, Dodd, Alvarez, Merris, Dodds, Mahon, Black, Rihoy, Gauvain, Loaring, Allen, Murray.

This is Guernsey's first meeting with Corinthian-Casuals in more than five years, in which our visitors won 5-0 in April 2018 on route to promotion. They have spent the last five seasons in the Isthmian Premier Division before relegation at the end of the last campaign. The Green Lions won three of the first four encounters but the next six all belonged to the Chocolate and Blues as the grew in strength over the years before their promotion.

This is very much a basement battle with the Surrey side sitting one place and two points above GFC, who would move out of the relegation zone with a win, and potentially up three places depending on scores elsewhere. The visitors are one of just three sides to have conceded more than the Sarnians this year and one of just two to have scored less. Vance's side will feel they should be out of the drop zone already, having frustrating conceded a stoppage time equaliser to Metropolitan Police in their last home game.

Saturday's match kicks off at 2pm. Fans unable to make it to Footes Lane can follow the action live on our social media channels, including audio Commentary on our X (Twitter) space. Highlights will follow on our Facebook page and YouTube channel, with a full match report on the website.
