In-form Guernsey are set for an exciting clash at Footes Lane on Wednesday night as league leaders Chertsey Town visit.

The Green Lions are very much one of the form teams in Isthmian South Central having won five of their last seven and have scored an average of more than three goals a game since Christmas. Ross Allen (five), Matt Loaring (eight) and Charlton Gavain (seven) have scored 20 of the club's last 24 goals between them.

It is a great test as Tony Vance's side have never won in five games against Chertsey, who are looking to open up a nine-point gap at the top of the table.

Jamie Dodd is available again after suspension, while Dave Merris could make his 50th appearance for the club. Matt Loaring's brace against Corinthian-Casuals on Saturday took him to 99 goals for the club, so is looking for the goal that will make him only the second GFC player to reach a century.

Kieran Mahon is back in training after injury, while forward Sam Murray is also working on his rehabilitation.

The Sarnians cannot move up the table as there is a six point gap to Ascot United in 13th, but they could halve the deficit with two games in hand.

The Curfews are looking to mark a 30th match unbeaten, having last lost in open play back in September. They have had two cup exits since but both were on penalties. Forward Gianluca Botti has an outside chance of the golden boot with 19 goals.

Guernsey's youngest ever squad were beaten 4-1 at Alwyns Lane in the reverse fixture November, replying with a fantastic goal for Bristol City-bound Jack Griffin. Chertsey last visited Footes Lane just over a year ago, where Ross Allen turned back the clock, equalising three times in a fantastic hat-trick to earn the Green Lions a point.

Wednesday's match kicks off at 7.45pm. Fans unable to make it to Footes Lane can listen to full live audio coverage on our @GuernseyFC X (Twitter) space, and keep up to date via our social media channels.
