Guernsey FC Women are gearing up for the historic first ever fixture in Guernsey as Sutton United Women visit Footes Lane on Wednesday Night in the Combined Counties Cup.
There has been excitement ever since the draw was made towards the end of last year. The Green Lionesses were knocked out in the second round last season but recieved a bye for the third round this year.
It represents a real test with Sutton a surefire step up in level from what GFCW have become used to in the JFA Women's Combination. They are eighth out of 12 teams in the London & South East Regional Football League Premier Division and beat Croydon Athletic to advance from the second round.
The Green Lionesses have already tasted cup action this seaon, knocked out in the Isthmian Women's Cup on penalties by Carshalton Athletic.
Calleigh Hedley is already chasing her 20th goal for the club as Anna Gauvain lines up a strong squad for their first ever game in front of their own fans. Kayleigh Marquis has returned from injury to provide competition for Emma Queripel in goal. The full squad is as follows:
