Guernsey head to Hartley Wintney for the first time in 11 years on Satuday as they look to build momentum off the back of two draws.
The Green Lions edged an exciting seven-goal thriller at the Memorial Playing Fields almost 11 years ago to the day of this most recent clash, on 6 November March 2012. Ross Allen and Dominic Heaume grabbed a brace each. GFC had led 4-1 and held out in a nervy finish after being reduced to 10 men. Later on that season, the Sarnians went on to thrash Hartley 8-1 at Footes Lane in the second of four games in their famous final weekend on route to promotion. Nigel Hutton and Marc McGrath helped themselves to a hat-trick each, with Matt Loaring and Matt Drillot's only strike for the club adding to the rout.
Hartley Wintney were also the hosts for our first ever competitive away trip, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Keene Domaille is suspended for this trip as a result of his red card against the Metropolitan Police last week and Ryan-Zico Black is unavailable from last weekend's squad, but there is a recall for teeange forward Jack Griffin. Thomas Dodds didn't get on the pitch last Saturday but is available again in his return from fitness.
The full squad is as follows: Addison, Hainsworth, Vaudin, Dodd, Alvarez, Merris, Vance, Dodds, Mahon, Rihoy, Gauvain, Loaring, Wallbridge, Griffin, Murray.
Guernsey could move out of the relegation zone with a much-needed win that would make it three games unbeaten and a first away win since February.
The Row are sitting two points off the play-offs in eighth, still to find some consistency with six wins and five defeats in the league this season. Top scorer Jayden Smith is on eight goals so far this season.
Hartley Wintney have had stint at Step 3 but finished bottom of the Southern Premier League South last season. The two actually met the previous summer at the Corbet Field in a pre-season friendly, which the visitors won 3-0 against a very young Guernsey side.
The pitch was passed fit after an inspection on Friday afternoon, but keep an eye on our social media channels in case the weekend weather has an impact on the fixture.
