Bristol City FC have signed Jack Griffin from Guernsey FC.
Sixteen-year-old forward Griffin has signed a two-year scholarship to follow Ben Acey, Tim Ap Sion and Alex Scott to the Robins.
Alex Scott scored his first Premier League goal last weekend just days after his Man of the Match performance against Fulham on Boxing Day.
The path from Guernsey to the Gate is becoming well trodden after Scott signed for City as a 16-year-old in December 2019 and progressed through the Under-18s and Under-23s to become a first team regular before his Premier League move to Bournemouth last summer.
City Technical Director Brian Tinnion said: “We are delighted that Jack has decided to join us as there was significant competition. The link with Guernsey FC is now well established and we are looking forward to Jack’s professional and personal development with us.”
Griffin scored on his Guernsey FC debut last August, and manager Tony Vance said: "I am incredibly proud to see yet another player progress through this pathway we've created. Guernsey FC was largely set up to help talented and aspiring players from the island progress, and to see one or two join a professional club would have been testament to our ethos. However, to have 4 players sign in 5 years (and all to one club!) should not be underestimated. I wish Jack all the best and look forward to seeing his progression over the next few years".
Jack played 15 times for the club scoring three goals, including the winner against Binfield. Good luck Jack, we are so proud of you.
