JERSEY WANDERERS WOMEN   2 (Rodrigues 26'; 57')
GUERNSEY FC WOMEN                4 (AET) (Hedley 39', 48', 120'; Rang 115')

Guernsey FC Women came from behind to win a thriller at Jersey Wanderers to qualify for the final of the Jersey Women's FA Cup.

A fantastic hat-trick from Calleigh Hedley and a first GFCW goal for Vicki Rang saw the Green Lionesses win it in extra-time.

Guernsey grew into the game and Codie Le Flem earned their first chance as she went on a dribble that took her to the edge of the Wanderers box, but her shot lacked power and was held. Six minutes later, Hedley nearly capitalised on a mix-up in the home defence but fired wide with the goalkeeper stranded.

Wanderers came close with a chip that beat Kayleigh Marquis but went wide, and the hosts took the lead on 26 minutes as Sofia Rodrigues' fancy footwork created space for a shot that bounced awkwardly in front of Marquis before finding the back of the net.

Guernsey responded well and Hedley saw a shot blocked after being picked out by Le Flem, and the resulting corner was headed over the top.

The Green Lions drew level on 39 minutes as Candice Bougourd lobbed a ball from just inside her own half into the path of Hedley, who drove on despite the close attention of three defenders and thumped the ball high into the net, dipping after it beat the keeper.

Hedley bagged her brace within three minutes of the restart, intercepting a loose pass on the edge of the area and placing the ball into the far corner from the angle.

There wasn't much Marquis could do about Rodrigues' stunning equaliser, curling a free-kick just under the crossbar from 25 yards after 57 minutes.

The visitors had a couple of close calls in the late stages, as Marquis rushed out to clear before Rodrigues looked to run through and complete her hat-trick, while Rang cleared off the line in injury time.

So into extra-time we went, and there was another close call as Anna Gauvain side nearly gifted Wanderers a third, but they couldn't hit the target.

The experienced Rang was the hero to put Guernsey back in front five minutes into the second half of extra-time. The centre-back got free at the far post to nod home a corner.

Hedley completed her hat-trick in the final minute of extra time. After a scrap for possession in midfield, Le Flem hooked the ball forward and it fell into the path of Hedley via a deflection. The number nine advanced on goal and slotted into the far corner from the angle to seal the win.

News about the final will be available soon as the Green Lionsesses look to get their hands on the Colin Welsh Trophy and secure silverware in their debut season.
