Matt Loaring was the star of Guernsey FC's 2023-24 awards night, taking home four individual accolades after a superb season.

The versatile and reliable Loaring already knew he would be collecting at least one award ahead of the night, and recieved the Golden Boot at the start of the evening for topping the club charts with 17 goals - marking his personal best scoring season and also passing 100 goals for the club, only the second player to do so after Ross Allen.

But once the main awards starting being handed out, Matt was also names as Coaches' Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year and Fans' Player of the Year for his contribution to the team this season.

On the playing side, there were plenty more awards up for grabs. Midfielder Seb Vance was named as Young Player of the Year for his solid showing in midfield with 35 appearances in his first full season, while Charlton Gauvain was selected as the Manelanders' Player of the Year by the club's loyal UK-based support.

Brandon Wallace's first goal for the club against Corinthian-Casuals was named Ernie's Champagne Moment.

On the team side, we also revisted the Green Lions' stand-out result of the season, the 4-2 midweek away victory at high-flying Marlow, with three rookies coming off the bench, which was named the Isthmian South Central performance of the month for February, while tribute was paid to the Green Lionesses for their excellent debut season in which they won the Jersey FA Cup.

There were also two awards to recognised contributions off the pitch. Club photographer Scott Fusellier was awarded the trophy for Outstanding Contribution to the club, while George Fern of the media team was given the Youth Contribution of the Year award.

Attendees also got a sneak peak of the new stadium at Victoria Avenue.

It was another fantastic evening to celebrate the hard work of everyone at the club despite the challenges it faces every season.
