Guernsey captain Jamie Dodd is back among Tony Vance’s squad as the Green Lions host a reunion with Tooting & Mitcham United on Sunday.

Dodd is involved for the first time this season, having last played a competitive game for the club in the defeat to Ashford United in February 2020 before the season was curtailed. He is still dealing with long-standing knee problems that may mean he can’t play every game like he used to, but he is still keen to make a big contribution to the team.

“The boys have made a positive start to the season,” Dodd told “I have missed being involved in the matchday squads, so it’s great to be back.

“I will need to manage my body carefully, but I am looking forward to contributing when I am called upon.”

Dodd replaces Tom Martin in the only change from the 16 that were involved against Northwood, which means goalkeeper Josh Addison is likely to reach his quarter-century for the club, while another goal for Charlton Gauvain would make him the 15th player to hit double figures.

Squad: Addison, Kelly, Marsh, Tobin, Strawbridge, Dodd, Le Tocq, Dodds, K Mahon, L Mahon, Loaring, Gauvain, Acey, Allen, Smith, Legg.

This is a catch-up game for GFC, with no other games in Isthmian South Central taking place due to the next round of the FA Trophy. It means that a third win of the season would take Vance’s side not only above the Terrors, but up to 12th in the table.

The South Londoners have won two, drawn one and lost five of their eight league fixtures so far, including defeat in the last three – the most recent of which saw them surrender a 2-0 half-time lead to Uxbridge – but they did put seven past Northwood at the start of the month.

The pair’s head-to-head record is even with three wins each as well as two draws. The last meeting was way back in November 2016, a 6-0 thrashing for the visitors at Footes Lane on the way to promotion from Isthmian South.

Sunday's match kicks off at 2pm. Highlights and a match report to follow.
