Ryan-Zico Black has earned a recall for Guernsey as Tony Vance seeks experience to help boost the Green Lions' stuttering start to the season.

Black's 200th and previous appearance in April 2022 was his first since December 2021 and only his second since December 2018. But he has been back with the squad and training well to earn his place as Badshot Lea visit Footes Lane for the first time in 11 years. Zico is one of four players in tomorrow's squad alongside Alvarez, Dodd and Mahon who were involved in 2012.

At the other end of the scale, teenage forward Owen Wallbridge is called up for the first time. Jacob Fallaize and Will Fazakerley are unavailable, while Ross Allen is away and Tom Dodds is nursing an injured ankle. Charlton Gauvain begins the first of his two-match suspension, so Seb Vance and Jack Griffin return as cover. Goalkeeper Christian Povall, who made his debut in August against Ascot United, will challenge Josh Addison for the number one shirt.

The full squad is as follows: Addison, Povall, Vaudin, Dodd, Alvarez, Merris, Vance, K Mahon, Black, Rihoy, Loaring, Wallace, Griffin, Wallbridge, Domaille, Murray.

Badshot Lea are a side the Sarnians have never actually beaten, sharing two draws (1-1 at home, 2-2 away) during our momentous 2012-13 season. Ross Allen levelled in the draw at Footes Lane having already had two disallowed for offside. In the return, the Green Lions led twice through Ollie McKenzie and Matt Loaring, but Darren Blake's strike in the 90th minute secured a 2-2 draw for the hosts. GFC thought they had then won it with the last kick when Nigel Hutton's strike came back off the underside of the crossbar and clearly bounced over the line, but the assistant referee failed to spot it and Tony Vance's side had to settle for the draw.

Badshot were promoted as runners up of the Combined Counties Premier League last season. Like the Green Lions, they have won one and lost three in the league so far, their only three points of the campaign so far coming at Thatcham Town last weekend.

Saturday's match kicks off at 2pm. Fans unable to make it to Footes Lane can keep up to date with the action on our social media channels. GFCTV highlights and a match report will be on the website over the weekend.
