Callum Stanton


Callum was loaned the Green Lions from AFC Bournemouth during the 2017-18 season to provide stability to the Green Lions rearguard, making his debut against Greenwich Borough in August 2017, becoming the 10th goalkeeper the club has used in competitive competition. An ankle injury early on meant he was temporarily replaced by fellow Cherry Will Dennis, he return to make more than 30 appearances. His consistency and penchant for an outstanding saves saw him earn many crucial points for the Green Lions and so he earned both the Young Player of the Year and Fans' Player of the Year awards.

Stanton was named Bournemouth's youth team player of the year in 2016-17 after impressive for the Premier League side's youth team. Guernsey fans were delighted when it was confirmed that he would be signing for the 2018-19 season, his travel possible thanks to the support of Blue Islands and PraxisIFM. He won the Fans' Player of the Year award for the second year running and signed for a third (2019-20) season, again thanks to the aforementioned sponsors.
