An underestimated player that can easily and competently fill a number of positions, including right-back, centre-back or as a holding central midfielder.
However, it is the former of those roles, as a solid and dependable right-back, where he became an integral part of the Guernsey FC set-up over the first five seasons and has also showed great commitment in spending time on the subs bench away from home.
Holds the honour of scoring the club's 100th ever league goal in CCL Division One, his only goal for the Green Lions.
Before GFC came along, Simon represented Guernsey at all representative age group levels, which included captaining the under-18 side for two consecutive years, while he was also formerly in the under-18 south of England schools team and played for Nottingham University first XI in their annual varsity match at Notts County.
For the senior island representative team, he has played in several Island Games and won various gold, silver and bronze medals.
Simon suffered a nasty leg break early on in the 2014-15 season which restricted his appearances. But having recovered from that setback, he was one of the club's top appearance makers in 2015-16, playing 33 matches and re-established himself as the first-choice right-back during the campaign, meaning Jacques Isabelle appeared at left-back when available. His performances earned him the players' Player-of-the-Year award at the end of that season.
Forced his way into first-team reckoning over the next two seasons and moved from right-back to a sweeping role in the middle as Tony Vance opted for a change in system. Was named club captain towards the end of 2016-17 and did a fine job in leading the team.
A fine example of a Guernsey-player making the absolute most of the opportunity presented by GFC.
