The cup draws have been made for the early rounds of the FA Cup and FA Vase for the 2026-27 season and Guernsey have one home game and one away trip, both against familiar faces.
In the extra-preliminary round of the FA Cup, we renew pleasantries with Crowborough Athletic at Victoria Park on Saturday 8th August. We faced them in the very early rounds of the FA Vase back in 2012-13, winning 3-2 thanks to goals from Dave Rihoy, Dominic Heaume and Jason Winch. Crowborough now play in the Isthmian League South East Division.
The Green Lions will hope to go a step further than last season. A hard-fought draw against Bedfont Sports to open the campaign last season forced a replay that never took place as we were expelled from the competition due to a player registration issue.
The reward for the winners is an away game against either Epsom & Ewell or Chipstead, both former league opponents of GFC.
It’s a more recent foe that the Green Lions will visit in the preliminary round of the Vase, with Newhaven the hosts. Tony Vance’s side beat them 5-1 at Fort Road in the league last season, with Ross Allen turning back the clock with a stylish hat-trick. The tie will be played on Saturday 15th August. We were knocked out by Snodland Town in the second round last season.
Ticket information for our home FA Cup tie will be announced in due course.
