Everyone at Guernsey FC is bursting with pride following the news that Alex Scott has received his first senior England call-up.
Alex’s journey is one that inspires everyone connected with Guernsey football. Having started out right here on our island, he has gone on to achieve incredible success through his talent, determination and hard work — and now he is set to represent England at the highest level.
Alex made his debut for the club on 31 August 2019, aged just 16, before impressing and earning his opportunity to sign for Bristol City. During his time at Ashton Gate, he quickly became one of the standout young players in the Championship, earning widespread praise for his maturity, technical ability and consistency. His performances saw him named EFL Championship Young Player of the Season in 2022–23, catching the eye of Premier League sides.
That led to a move to AFC Bournemouth in the summer of 2023, where Alex has continued to shine. He has impressed Thomas Tuchel with his performances in the Cherries’ midfield this season, having also been a key player for England U21s during their U21 EURO success in the summer.
This latest milestone is a moment of immense pride, not just for Alex himself, but for everyone who has been part of his development over the years — from his early days in Guernsey to his progress through the football pyramid.
Everyone at Guernsey FC sends their warmest congratulations to Alex. His journey is a shining example of what can be achieved through belief, hard work and dedication.
Congratulations, Alex — we couldn’t be prouder.
