Guernsey’s search of a much-needed victory doesn’t get any easier as they visit Basingstoke Town on Saturday afternoon.
A win could take the Green Lions out of the relegation play-off places and would put them into double figures for goals scored this season.
Sam Murray joins the attack-heavy absentee list that already has Ross Allen, Will Fazakerley, Charlton Gauvain. Keanu Marsh has an ankle problem and misses out for only the second time this season and fellow full-back from the opposite flank Joe Alvarez is also out.
But that gives a chance for youngster Keene Domaille to perhaps earn a start or play a significant amount of minutes to continue his progression.
Tony Vance’s full travelling squad is as follows: Addison, Martin, McKane, Vaudin, Fallaize, Dodd, Dodds, Merris, K Mahon, L Mahon, Loaring, Wallace, Hale, Domaille.
Basingstoke are just five points off the top with a game in hand. They have won their last four games in Isthmian South Central and have two players each on a dozen goals this season: Ezio Touray and Bradley Wilson.
The Green Lions will feel it was two points dropped against Bedfont Sports and are looking for a first win in five games.
The last meeting between the pair came at the Winklebury Sports Complex and the Sarnians could consider themselves unfortunate not to take something away after creating several good chances but in the end were on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline. Prior to that, the two sides played out a cracking 4-4 draw at Footes Lane in January, with the Green Lions coming back from 4-2 down with late goals from Allen, and a first goal for the club by Glenn Le Tissier.
Saturday’s match kicks off at 2pm. Fans unable to make it to High Road can follow live coverage on GFCTV. An update on the new pay-per-view service for GFCTV can be found here. Highlights and a full match report will be on the website after the game.
