Guernsey’s final game of 2025 is a toughie as they visit fellow play-off chasers Forest Row on Saturday.
With five wins on the bounce, the Green Lions are chasing their best winning run since August-September 2013, or a few months even further back on route to promotion if you are only factoring league games.
Charlton Gauvain is back for the Sarnians after suspension, and Tony Vance will be pleased at the commitment from his squad in what is very nearly a Boxing Day away day. Frazer Maginnis is also back but Ben Solway and club captain Jamie Dodd are unavailable. Teenagers George Goubert and Gil Hunter keep their places in the squad. The game is still too soon for Simon Arnold, Tom Vaudin, Jacques Cauvin and Niall Hainsworth, while Seb Vance and Matt Loaring are long-term absentees.
Three hat-tricks in five games in December means 50-goal Sam Murray suddenly has Marc McGrath’s tally of 52 in his sights. Another hat-trick would take him into the top five all-time scorers lists for the Green Lions.
The Sarnians could end the day in third with a win, depending on other results. Frow made a strong start to the season but are winless in four, losing 4-2 to a resurgent Eastbourne United last time out. They are GFC’s 130th different opponent. They came up from Division One via the play-offs last season.
It’s a familiar venue for Guernsey as Forest Row play their how games at Jubilee Field, home of former Isthmian League rivals Three Bridges.
Saturday’s match kicks off at 2pm. Fans not making the journey to Jubilee Field can watch the first half live on our YouTube channel, or listen to the full 90 minutes on our @GuernseyFC X Space. You can also keep up to date with our social media posts and there will be a full match report on the website.
