1,064A new story in Guernsey football has begun as Tony Vance’s new side entertained Football League side AFC Wimbledon at Footes Lane, and the crowd were treated to an 11-goal thriller that the South London side edged.
Ryan-Zico Black scored the first ever goal in GFC colours with a stunning free-kick. but the Green Lions were 3-1 down by the break.
A goal from Ross Allen was sandwiched by two from the visitors, leaving the score at 5-2, with defenders Sam Cochange, GFC new club captain, and Tom Strawbridge getting their side back in it.
The Dons restored their two-goal cushion but Allen rounded things off with his second, slamming home late on.
If the entertainment is half as good as this when the league gets underway, we could be in for a heck of a season.
