Guernsey produced one of their famous comebacks to finally get a win in Isthmian South, their first in nearly two months.

It was all action in the first 20 minutes, with Dan Moody scoring twice in three minutes, the second from the spot, but Marc McGrath pulled a goal back almost straight from kick-off.

Backed by a vociferous Garenne Stand in the second half, the Green Lions chased and chased for the equaliser and got it midway through the second-half through an own-goal courtesy of Steve Betancourt.

Marc McGrath produced a great finish on the run with less than 10 minute to go to complete the turnaround, but the game ended in an ugly fashion as a brawl resulted in dismissals for Kieran Mahon and Tom Martin for the hosts and Ben Dyett for the visitors, meaning the game finished nine against 10.

There was a huge roar of relief at the final whistle as Tony Vance’s side ground out that elusive league win that they can hopefully build on.
