Guernsey ended 2014 in the ideal way as Marc McGrath, Dom Heaume and Dave Rihoy netted to give the Green Lions a 3-1 victory over Redhill.

Tony Vance had the added bonus of bringing on Ross Allen for the first time in three months as the striker returned from injury in the nick of time to help the Sarnians’ goal of climbing the table in the new year.

Despite all the goals concede at the other end, Guernsey’s forward line has generally still been prolific this season and during Allen’s absense, especially McGrath stepping into the number 10 shirt and leading the scoring charts.

He netted in the quarter-hour mark, with Heaume doubling GFC’s advantace five minute before half-time, his fourth in four games.

Tyrone Pink pulled one back early in the second half but Rihoy made the game safe 15 minutes from time.
