Guernsey suffered a 2-0 defeat at Three Bridges on Tuesday night.

They missed a bit bite in attack with Ross Allen missing due to tweaking his hamstring on Saturday. This game had been due to take place on a Saturday when the Green Lions were on a real roll formwise, but unfortunately they couldn’t replicate this in the re-arranged fixture in midweek, often an achilles heel for the Sarnians.

After a goalless first half, Allan Tait gave the hosts the lead nine minutes in the second half, with Sam McVicar making the game safe in the last five minutes.

Tony Vance’s side thought they had got back in the game late on in a goalmouth scramble but the assistant referee disagreed that the ball had crossed the line.

One positive for the evening was seeing Simon Geall make his comeback from the bench having recovered from breaking his leg in September.
