Guernsey got their biggest-ever away win thanks to a crazy end to the game.

They had been waning in recent games, but the Green Lions returned to winning ways in spectacular fashion.

The final margin was skewed a bit by a flurry of goals towards the end of the game.

Nigel Hutton, who has only recently returned from injury, reminded people of his predatory instincts with his first goal of the season – he converted from a forward to a right-back last season – on 21 minutes, with Ross Allen making it two from the spot five minutes before half time. 

The Sparks can feel aggrieved at the third goal, which came through Dominic Heaume on the counter attack after the referee missed Chris Tardif picking up a blatent backpass from Tom De La Mare. An indirect free-kick would have been the correct decision, which would have presented a chance for the hosts to get back in it. From a potential 2-1 scoreline, suddenly it was 3-0 and all over.

Allen made it four with four minute remaining, only for Chris Smith to grab a consolation that infuriated Tardif for spoiling his clean sheet.

Then came three goals almost straight after each other to really skew the scoreline. Allen got his hat-trick, and then fourth, in the space of a minute as the game ticked into added-time, with Guernsey then awarded a penalty three minutes into the extra, which was converted by Marc McGrath to make up for a glaring miss earlier in the second half.
