845Guernsey signed off a challenging campaign in style with a typically entertaining and goal-filled encounter at Footes Lane.
Ryan Quirke threatened to spoil the party with a goal after six minutes, but goals from Tom De La Mare and Matt Loaring within moments of eachother turned it around in the few minutes before half-time.
Ross Allen made it 3-1 from the sport five minutes after the break, and earned a hat-trick with goals in the 75th and 92nd minutes to ease his team to victory after the vistors had made it 3-2 on 64 minutes.
It’s been a thrilling season, if not for the Green Lions league positions but the high number of goals and large scorelines fans have seen home and away.
It is the first time Tony Vance’s side have gone through sustained period of difficulty and that will hopefully stand them in good stead next season.
Now there is the Muratti to look forward to, and hopefully a gold medal in the island games in Jersey in the summer.
