Guernsey are fittingly the first-ever winners of the Mike Thomas Memorial Trophy after beating Billericay Town at Footes Lane.

The trophy was established in memory of beloved GFC physio Mike Thomas, who sadly died in May after a battle with Motor Neurone Disease. A charity collection was also taken at the game and a minute’s applause took place before kick-off.

Ross Allen scored twice from the penalty spot to claim the pre-season trophy, which will hopefully be competed for annually.
