Guernsey bounced back from their recent defeat by scoring another four at Victoria Park on Saturday.
Callum Le Lacheur marked his 10th appearance with his first two goals for the club, sealing the points and easing the nerves of Midhurst & Easebourne halving the defecit, with Charlton Gauvain and Ross Allen having put the Green Lions in command.
The Sarnians dominated the game and could have scored more. They came close within 10 minutes as Gauvain picked out the run of Le Lacheur, who was through but Conor Manderson came out to save well with his legs.
Wallace did well to feed Gauvain just before the half-hour but the number seven’s shot fizzed across the box and was cleared.
GFC got what they deserved for their strong start with the opener five minutes later. Following a neat interchange between Fin du Port and Brandon Wallace, du Port manoeuvred across the area and picked out Gauvain to his right. Gauvain’s clever dummy deceived the Midhurst defence and let the ball roll through to Niall Hainsworth on the edge of the box, who slotted in Gauvain to finish from the angle.

Le Lachuer lobbed Manderson to find the net on 36 minutes but the offside flag denied him his first goal.
It was a similar pattern at the start of the second half and the Greens doubled their lead five minutes in from a classic corner routine than saw Gauvain’s low delivery find the run of Allen, who benefitted from some clever blocking of his marker by his team mates and produced a brilliant finish that looped into the far corner.
But the two-goal cushion was short lived as Tim Nguyen capitalised on a loose ball and picked out the bottom corner to halve the deficit on 53 minutes. That changed momentum for a short while, but the Greens soon recovered their two-goal lead.
Le Lachuer’s first goal has been coming for a whole and he finally got what he deserved just after the hour to restore Guernsey’s breathing space. Murray pounced on a loose ball spilled by Manderson and teed up Le Lacheur to tuck it into the bottom corner.
Substitute Fin Patterson created the fifth, teeing up du Port for a low shot that was deflected off the leg of a defender into the path of Le Lacheur to knock in the fourth in the last minute to cap a dominant afternoon.
