Guernsey FC’s Development side were involved in a goalfest at Victoria Park on Thursday night as they were beaten 7-4 by Sylvans’ Priaulx side.
It was mostly a youthful side with a bit of experience thrown in, in the form of former GFC regulars Simon Geall, Ryan-Zico Black, Glenn Le Tissier and Robbie Legg. Current first team squad regulars Fin Patterson and Frazer Maginnis also played.
The Westerners were ahead within 30 seconds and four up inside 10 minutes as they ran riot early on, including a Freddie Walker hat-trick, but Leon Meakin’s side clawed two back thanks to goals from George Goubert and Patterson.
But that was not the end of the first half action as Sylvans made it 6-2 before the break, including a fourth for Walker.
There were a host of changes at half-time and Legg made it 6-3 shortly after the restart from a free-kick. Tiago Rodrigues got a seventh for Sylvans on the hour and Le Tissier made it 7-4 in the final 10 minutes.
