Guernsey could put another dent in another promotion hopeful’s chances as they head to Hanworth Villa on Tuesday night.
The Villains need one more win to secure a play-off spot, but if the Green Lions get a result at Rectory Meadow, it would open the door for Binfield to sneak in if they were to beat Marlow.
Tom Dodds is set to move level with Angus Mackay on 180 appearances for the club, while Josh Addison could join Carlos Canha on 60 games and Dave Merris, now in the top 50, will catch up with Tom Jackson on a quarter century. Keanu Marsh remain sidelined with a hamstring injury.
GFC need two wins to give themselves a chance of leapfrogging Uxbridge 14th place by the end of the campaign. Their narrow defeat to Basingstoke Town on Sunday was only their second in 11 games.
Villa have only lost three themselves since Guernsey beat them 3-1 at Footes Lane in February. They are putting together a strong end to the season to edge ahead of the challenging pack and get a play-off semi-final spot. They could yet end up in third if Marlow and Northwood don’t end the campaign well.
The Green Lions’ only previous trip to Rectory Meadow was almost exactly 10 years ago, a 2-1 defeat in the midst of the Sarnians’ mammoth run of 20 games in 30 days to on the way to promotion from the Combined Counties Premier League.
Tuesday’s match kicks off at 7.45pm. Fans unable to make it to Rectory Meadow can watch full live coverage on GFCTV free of charge, or keep up to date via our social media channels. Highlights and a full match report will follow on the website.
