Green Lions ready to defend Skipton Cup

Guernsey’s squad is safe and sound in the Isle of Man and preparing to face FC Isle of Man on Saturday evening as they look to retain the Skipton Cup.

The Green Lions trained on Friday afternoon and will have another light session on Saturday morning.

Charlton Gauvain’s ankle injury sustained against Stansfeld means he misses the trip, but there is a welcome return for forward Paris Pereira, who sustained a serious knee injury in the Prialux League and has not played since August 2019.

The squad includes several young players who represented the Sarnians for the first time against Stansfel last week.

Tony Vance’s full squad is as follows: Josh Addison, Keanu Marsh, Tyler McKane, Ben Solway, Tom Vaudin, Jacob Fallaize, Ben Le Tocq, Thomas Dodds, Brandon Wallace, Liam Mahon, Matt Loaring, Paris Pereira, Robbie Legg, Keene Domaille, Glenn Le Tissier.

GFC are holders of the Skipton Cup having beaten FC Isle of Man on penalties in 2020 after a 1-1 draw at Footes Lane. Their last visit to The Bowl was for the Raven’s first ever match, with the hosts winning 1-0.

Saturday’s game at The Bowl, Douglas, kicks off at 6pm. Keep an eye on our social media channels for live updates.
