Guernsey FC Women against fought back from two goals down to ensure they remain unbeaten in the Southern Region Women’s Division One South.

Finding themselves 2-0 down inside 15 minutes, Calleigh Hedley got her side back in it midway through the first half and Jess Frampton’s wonder strike in the closing stages salvaged a point.

The game was less than a minute old when Rahman sent Fitzgerald in behind to tuck the ball past Alana Hockey and put the hosts in front.

It was two on 12 minutes as Aimee Ogier was adjudged to have tripped the Bursledon winger and Pouncy blasted home from the spot.

Hedley’s goal came with a slice of luck as a corner bounced off the near post and off the back of the head of a defender and she was perfectly placed to tap in from a couple of yards out, bagging her 40th goal for the club in just 21 matches.

The Green Lionesses probed in the second half and Ruby Smith came close, forcing a save from Lodge after Rochelle Mullen’s ball had split the defence, the two substitutes combining well.

The equaliser came on 78 minutes and it was a beauty. Frampton’s free-kick found it’s way back to her and she took a touch before leathering the ball in from distance, giving Lodge no chance and registering her first goal for the club.

Frampton almost nicked a winner in similarly specatular fashion as she went for a lob from out of the touch line, but the ball bounced off the post.

Andover New Street’s win means Anna Gauvain’s side drop to second but are now unbeaten in seven. They have a break next weekend before Farnham Town come to Victoria Park in what is likely to be their toughest challenge yet.
