Guernsey are slowly starting to get the numbers back as they look to kickstart their season with a trip to Lancing on Saturday afternoon.
The Green Lions’ bid to ensure they don’t have a winless September is boosted by the returns of George Goubert and Corey Brouard, while Dylan Graham is likely to hit double figures in his appearance tally.
Those still out include last year’ scorers in this fixture Sam Murray and Fin du Port (who are both back in full training so hopefully ready to go next week), plus Charlton Gauvain, Matt Loaring, Callum Le Lacheur, Niall Hainsworth and Dave Merris. A lot of youngsters who have recently been part of the U23s will be representing Guernsey FA U21s in the Malaya Cup against the Fleet Air Arm at Victoria Park on Saturday afternoon.
Lancing finished in the relegation zone last season but were granted a reprieve. They have won two and lost six of their opening eight league games this campaign. Getting back to winning ways would take Tony Vance’s side back into the top half. We earned a 2-0 win last season, with a 3-0 at Victoria Park in the final game of the regular season to ensure our home play-off place.

Guernsey FC Women face a new opponent as they head to Millbrook looking for their first win of the campaign.
Anna Gauvain’s side are without the suspended Calleigh Hedley after her sending off last weekend but Eryn James could make her first appearance of the season. Mollie Watson is set to play her 30th game for the club.
The full squad is as follows: Emma Queripel, Alana Hockey, Mollie Watson, Scarlett Kenneally, Aimee Ogier, Elenista Lambrou, Zakiyya Qasim, Steph Batiste, Candice Bougourd, Donna Gallienne, Eryn James, Amy Dallamore, Codie Le Flem, Adrienne Leech.
Millbrook were promoted from the Hampshire County Women’s Football League Division One. They lost their opening league game 3-2 to Havant & Waterlooville.
Sunday’s match at Test Park, Southampton, is at 2pm. We unfortunately don’t have the personnel available to live stream but will be posting updates on social media.
