Loaring poised to hit triple-century

Matt Loaring is set to make his 300th appearance for Guernsey on Wednesday night as they welcome new opponents and league leaders Bracknell Town to Footes Lane.

Assuming he plays, Loaring, who has 77 goals to his name in his previous 299, including one this season, will become the second player to reach the milestone after club captain Jamie Dodd, who leads the way with 317.

Charlton Gauvain has been passed fit to play despite being forced off at half-time against Westfield due to the recurrence of an ankle injury, and so is part of an unchanged 16 selected by Tony Vance.

The squad is as follows: Addison, Kelly, Marsh, Strawbridge, Le Tocq, Graham, Dodds, K Mahon, L Mahon, Gauvain, Acey, Loaring, Canha, Allen, Smith, Legg.

Bracknell have won nine of their 11 matches so far to lead Isthmian South Central by two points and are likely to be the Green Lions’ toughest test yet this season.

GFC are seeking a first win in four games that could see them rise to 11th depending on other results.

‘Le Lion Vert’ pop-up pub will be open an hour before kick-off and until 11pm after the match. We hope to see fans congregate to buy a drink which will help support the club financially.

Tonight’s game kicks off at 7.45pm. GFCTV highlights and a match report will be available on the website after the match.
