Guernsey FC's Green Lionesses made it a debut fixture to remember on Friday night as they put in an emphatic display away from home to see off Corinthian-Casuals.

The win means that the GFC Women's side advance to the next round of the Isthmian Women's Cup, where they will play Bognor Regis Women later this month.

The Green Lionesses looked like the more comfortable side right from the off in Friday's clash, and it took just over 12 minutes for Codie Le Flem to score the team's first ever goal, with her effort from outside the box looping over the keeper and into the back of the net.

The 18-year-old, who combined well with fellow attackers Adrienne Leech and Elise Le Lacheur all game, soon doubled her goal tally for the night as she managed to evade the challenges of a number of defenders before firing home.

She then had a chance to make it a hat-trick just a few moments later, getting in beyond the backline once again before curling an effort just past the post.

Guernsey were looking comfortable in their lead despite a very vocal home crowd, and this time Le Flem did manage to complete her hat-trick with a cool finish under the Casuals goalkeeper, meaning the Green Lionesses went into the break three goals to the good.

Both of the Scarletts - Gallagher and Kenneally, put in impressive displays on the night at left and right-back respectively, and the latter made it 4-0 to Guernsey on the hour mark with an impressive attempt from outside the area.

It did not stop there, either, as Island Games 4x100m gold medalist Emily Pike came off the bench to make it five, as she rounded the goalkeeper before tapping home.

Corinthian-Casuals did have chances of their own during the cup tie, and they scored a consolation goal with just under 10 minutes left to play after a foul in the box led to their captain Demetriou slotting home from 12 yards.

That was not the last goal of the night, though, as Guernsey scored for a sixth time thanks to Elise Le Lacheur's left footed shot from long range.

Anna Gauvain's team were home and dry, and just like that qualification into the next round of the cup competition was secured in style.

The Green Lionesses will face Bognor Regis in the next round.
