Dave Merris
Defender
Experienced midfielder Merris played and coached at Priaulx League side Belgrave Wanderers after moving to the island in the 2021-22 season. Beginning his career in the youth ranks of Rotherham United, his semi-pro CV has some famous names on it, with spells at York City and Harrogate Town among others.
Made his Guernsey debut in October 2022 as a substitute against Ashford Town, and has shown his class in midfield and occasionally at left back, as well as his excellent set-piece delivery.
Merris played 27 times in his debut season. Comfortably Guernsey oldest ever outfield player, Mez is still going strong, also lending his experience as head coach of the island representative side, guiding them to victory over Jersey in 2025.
Dave will wear the number 18 shirt for the 2025-26 season.
