There will be a few new faces in Guernsey’s first match of pre-season as Tony Vance assesses his options ahead of the 2022/23 Isthmian League campaign.
Stansfeld are the visitors on Saturday afternoon, with the game moved to Vale Rec’s Corbet Field in Fort Road.
In goal, serial trophy winner at local level with St Martin’s and Muratti goalkeeper Jason Martin will line up between the sticks. Muratti debutant Jake Lowe will also get a run out after being selected by Vance for the island’s matches against Alderney and Jersey last season.
Others getting a run-out include young centre-backs Tom Vaudin and Ben Solway, prolific Northerners striker Sam Murray, and midfielders Seb Vance and Brandon Williams.
Plenty of last season’s GFC squad are included, but a notable return is Joe Alvarez, who made several appearance for the Green Lions as a youngster before a long-term injury. It will be the first time he has been involved with the club for several years. Robbie Legg is also included.
Plenty of players will get vital pre-season minutes, with the full squad as follows: Jason Martin, Tyler McKane, George McNeela, Tom Vaudin, Ben Solway, Joe Alvarez, Jake Lowe, Thomas Dodds, Seb Vance, Brandon Wallace, Kieran Mahon, Liam Mahon, Charlton Gauvain, Glenn Le Tissier, Robbie Legg, Sam Murray, Keene Domaille.
Stansfeld are in the Southern Counties East League Premier Division, having won Division One of the Southern Counties East League last season.

Saturday’s game at the Corbet Field kicks off at 3pm. Tickets are £5 for adults and £1 for under-16s, only payable on the gate. The club is refunding all those who purchased tickets online for the original fixture at Footes Lane, and should now have been contacted by email to inform them of the change.
As the Corbet Field is a smaller venue, parking is more scarce, so supporters are encouraged, where possible, to car share, walk or use public transport.
