We are delighted to be heading back to the Isle of Man for the second time with the second Skipton Cup has been confirmed for Saturday 23 July.
The Green Lions were the Ravens’ first ever opponents in August 2020, with the hosts winning 1-0 at The Bowl in Douglas. The pair met again just a month later for the inaugural Skipton Cup at Footes Lane, with Tony Vance’ side picking up the trophy courtesy of a penalty shoot-out victory after a 1-1 draw.
The clubs were able to get together courtesy of an ‘air bridge’ as a result of the two crown dependencies being completely free of Covid cases at the time.
Skipton International have a three-year agreement to sponsor the matches.
Guernsey FC Director Nic Legg said: “We thoroughly enjoyed both meetings with FC Isle of Man in 2020 and we are excited to be meeting them for a third time as we return to The Bowl. Tony and the team are keen retain the trophy that they won at Footes Lane in 2020.
“Our huge thanks to Skipton International for their support enabling us to continue this special relationship, and we hope that many of our loyal fans in Guernsey can join us on the trip.”
