Charlton Gauvain is set to be the latest centurion for Guernsey as they welcome Marlow to Footes Lane on Saturday.

The attacking midfielder was denied his 100th appearance on Tuesday dues to the game at South Park being postponed. He has scored 11 goals in his 99 appearances so far.

Goalkeeper Lucas Hanley is also set for a home debut, having made all six of his appearances so far on the mainland.

From the side that beat Thatcham Town in the Green Lions’ last outing, teenagers Ben Acey and Keene Domaille are rested as they will be representing the island side in the U18 Muratti on Sunday. Jordan Kelly, Tyler McKane and Glenn Le Tissier come back into the squad to make up a full 16. Thomas Dodds, Liam Mahon and Kyle Smith are all still recovering from injuries.

The full squad is as follows: Hanley, Kelly, Marsh, McKane, Fallaize, Dodd, Le Tocq, K Mahon, Jackson, Rihoy, Skillen, Gauvain, Loaring, Allen, Fazakerley, Le Tissier.

As if February wasn’t busy enough for the Sarnians, March is set to be even more jampacked, with Saturday being the first of eight games this month, six of them against sides in the top seven chasing promotion.

Hopefully, Tony Vance’s side will continue their good spell of form that saw them earn three wins and two draws from six games to put them on the edge of the pack in midtable. If Westfield and Thatcham were to both lose this weekend, GFC could jump two places to 13th in Isthamian South Central on goal difference with a draw, as would a victory should those sides pick up anything manage no more than a draw themselves.

The Sarians will have to be at their best, with painful memories of Marlow blitzing the Green Lions 6-0 at the Alfred Davis Memorial Ground back in November. GFC will take heart from the Blues’ more recent form though, with the Buckinghamshire side picking up just two wins from their last nine league games, making their play-off battle that little bit harder. Depending on other results, they could jump from seventh to fourth with a win.

Guernsey Mind are offering fans a chance to take a penalty at half-time in its ‘Beat the Goalie’ challenge to raise vital funds. Buy a ticket from one of the Guernsey Mind team at the gate on your way into the ground, and your name could be drawn to try your luck from the spot at half-time.

Saturday’s match kicks off at 2pm. Fans unable to make it to Footes Lane can catch highlights on GFCTV in the days following the game, and there will be a full match report on the website.
